Flying in Australia is nothing short of magical; it’s almost unimaginable what this unique ecosystem, mix of culture, and climate has created. Soaring its skies is a must have lifetime experience. The sparsely inhabited area of this vast island allows for one to soak in Mother Nature. Australia and in particular Manilla is an incredibly immense space that knows no boundaries, characterized by free movement throughout it’s skies. On Average Manilla hosts large and generous thermals, who’s strong winds allow one to fly very high and for over 200km in distance.
Our brother, teammate and Ozone Italy Kite Manager will be our guide, Stefano Gigli chose to live part of his life on this side of the world he says, “Because it’s the last continent historically discovered by the Europeans and especially because of the unrelenting natural surroundings, and native cultures which come together in an explosive mix of colors, smells and smiles.
Our Journey starts in Sydney, hugging the shoreline North to the Gold Coast, where we then change direction, Southwest towards Manilla. During this period of the year Manilla is flyable each day and with any wind direction, however if for any reason the weather falters for a day or two, we will quickly change course for some soaring along the beautiful Pacific Australian beaches just South of the Gold Coast.
It is not a journey on the other side of the world as many like to call, it all depends on your perspective, if you choose to live the dream, the distance, as in paragliding, becomes the desire of exploration.
